Fitri Salim.

I am Mohd Nur Fitri Mohd Salim, a Senior Lecturer at the Academy of Language Studies, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). My work brings together language and communication education, educational technology, and curriculum innovation. I am interested in how ideas from research can become learning experiences that are useful to educators and meaningful to students.

Over the years, I have been involved in developing teaching modules, learning materials, educational models, and innovation products. Much of this work explores the use of digital tools in education, including 360° video, video-based learning, educational chatbots, and interactive resources. I am particularly drawn to projects that make language learning more engaging and give students different ways to explore, practise, and apply what they learn.

Collaboration is an important part of my academic journey. I have worked with colleagues across disciplines on research, teaching resources, and educational innovations that address a range of learning needs. Some of these collaborations have taken our work beyond the classroom and into community settings, where listening to people’s experiences and knowledge is just as important as contributing our own expertise. I have also been invited to speak at events in Malaysia and abroad, sharing ideas and learning from educators and researchers in different settings. Working with others continually challenges me to see an idea from a different perspective and develop it further.

Alongside teaching and research, I serve as a University Fellow in 360° Video-Based Learning and as a Coordinator (Centre for Academic Leadership) at UiTM’s Institute of Leadership and Development. These roles allow me to support academic development, share teaching practices, and continue conversations about the place of technology in higher education.

Beyond academia, I have an interest in creative writing and music. I also enjoy reading fiction and nonfiction that explore history, art, struggle, identity, and love.
